NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. §77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions will meet on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 6:05 p.m., at The Barn at God’s Country located at 53174 HWY 84, Center, Nebraska for the purpose of conducting a Knox County Joint Public Hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the following Knox County subdivisions:

            City of Crofton, (402) 388-4766, property tax requested $243,290.93

            Knox County, (402) 288-5604, property tax requested $4,474,100.84

            Bloomfield Community School District, (402) 373-4800, property tax requested $5,777,265

            Creighton Community School District, (402) 358-5000, property tax requested $4,965,656

            Wausa Public School District, (402) 586-2255, property tax requested $3,655,165

Also, a Joint Public Hearing will be held on September 17, 2026 at 6:15 p.m. for Pierce County at the Plainview Public Library, 209 N Pine ST, Plainview, Nebraska to obtain public input on a property tax increase proposed by the following Pierce County subdivisions:

            Osmond Community Schools, (402) 745-2044, property tax requested $4,168,464

            Plainview Public School, (402) 582-4993, property tax requested $6,513,822

Said meetings are open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact your respective County Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if an accommodation is required.

There are no items on the agendas for these joint public meetings other than discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in §77-1633.
