County Treasurer
REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES DUE. Real estate and personal property taxes are due December 31. The first half of the tax becomes delinquent on the following May 1 and the second half becomes delinquent on September 1. Along with your payment, please include your statement(s) or parcel ID number and phone number. If you need assistance, please call 402-288-5615. PLEASE NOTE: You will still need to file your Personal Property Schedule with the Knox County Assessor.
MAIL TO: Knox County Treasurer, PO Box 127, Center, NE 68724-0127, PAY ONLINE: www.nebraskataxesonline.us, or USE DROP BOX: Located in the east entrance foyer of the Knox County Courthouse.
Duties:
- To collect all revenues for the County
- To bill and collect all real estate and personal taxes in the County
- To issue titles (record and release liens), register all motor vehicles with tax situs in the County and to verify vehicle insurance
- To issue temporary drivers licenses, C.D.L.’s, learners permits, I.D. cards, school permits and collect appropriate fees
- To distribute and disburse tax collections and revenues to the political subdivisions
- Boat titles and registration
- Snowmobile Registration
