Nebraska Deeds Online Instructions for Numerical Indexes

Access to Knox County Numerical Indexes Online

Joann M. Fischer announces that the Knox County Numerical Indexes are now available on the Nebraska Deeds Online website. This update helps with researching property title chains and other recorded documents for business or genealogy purposes.

  • The indexes are current up to March 2016.
  • For documents recorded after March 2016, you must:
    • Visit the Clerk’s office, or
    • Search the Nebraska Deeds Online site by name or legal description.

Instructions to View Numerical Indexes Online:

  1. Go to nebraskadeedsonline.us
  2. Click on Knox County on the map or select it from the dropdown.
  3. On the left, choose “Search Numerical Indexes”.
  4. Click on “Indexes”.
  5. You’ll see two files:
    • Lands: For properties described by sections, townships, and ranges.
      • Navigate by selecting Range → Township → Section.
      • Two books:
        • A Book: 1850s–1925
        • B Book: 1925–March 2016
    • Lots: For properties in cities, villages, or subdivisions.
      • Includes a “Rural” file for lake/river subdivisions.
      • Navigate by block or lot.
      • Also uses A and B Books with the same date ranges.

You can zoom in and print the index pages.

Document Search Capabilities:

  • Deeds: back to January 1993
  • Loan documents: back to 2003
  • Miscellaneous records: back to 1998
  • All current documents are uploaded daily.

Search tips:

  • Use the “Grantor” and “Grantee” fields with the last name of the person you’re researching.
